The Beginning of the Verbum Dei WYD Pre-Encounter.

We send greetings from Gyor, Hungary, to all of the Verbum Dei Missionary Family!

 We have begun our International Youth Encounter that will lead us into our participation in the World Youth Day in Poland. Our theme is: "Happy are you who live and announce MERCY". 

We are very grateful to be here in this beautiful place. We have youth participating from various countries around the World: Hungary, Germany, England, the USA, Portugal, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Singapore, Taiwan, Spain, Russia, Italy etc.

In reference to our theme, "Happy are you who live and announce mercy", we have presented each country and their unique challenges and necessities. To symbolise these challenges we asked each group to express their need for mercy through one single word: Eg. "Justice", "Welcome", "Life", "Openness" etc. With these words we have been bandaging the Heart of God so as to ask him for these aspects of Mercy as a gift for us to use. On our part we have promised to make these aspects real and present in the places that we have come from which have such a great need for God's mercy.
